To be a diverse, multi-generational body of believers who love God with everything, experience life transformation, and lead others to the same through intentional disciple-making.
Our Vision
Our Vision
To be a diverse, multi-generational body of believers who love God with everything, experience life transformation, and lead others to the same through intentional disciple-making.
Our Mission
To help people know God, worship Him, grow in community and go reach the world.
Below you can see how we at First Baptist Church seek to accomplish it.
Reach Out
The first step in our discipleship process is to reach out to the unchurched in the Houston County area. It is important for us to build relationships with our friends, neighbors, and co-workers and love them with the love of Christ. As we build deeper connections, we invite them come and see what God is doing at First Baptist.
Plug In
It is essential for disciples of Christ to grow in their faith together with other believers daily and weekly. God designed us to live in community with other people. As people of all ages come to First Baptist, our desire is for them to connect with other believers through our Bible Study Groups where they can study the Bible and be encouraged and challenged by other people. As well, God has given every believer a spiritual gift to serve the local church. We hope to help believers discover their gift and use it to build up the church.
Build Up
Healthy and consistent fellowship among believers enables them to be built up in their faith. Through the regular, age-relevant, Christ-centered teaching, we seek to help believers grow to maturity in their faith. Our desire is for the relationships that are developed to go beyond our meeting times and to become a part of everyone's daily lives and responsibilities.
Send Out
As believers are built up in their faith, they are equipped to be sent out to live on mission for Christ. At First Baptist, our desire is for disciples to go and make more disciples and to replicate this discipleship model with those they reach. Our prayer is for the Kingdom of God to be multiplied in Houston County by reaching the lost and discipling them.
